COURSE OBJECTIVE

Hand and foot care involves cleaning and caring for the skin of the hands and feet, keeping the nails trimmed and smooth. Many people who are receiving health care needs help caring for their hands and feet. At the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills to help the people in your care by keeping the fingernails trimmed and smooth to prevent injury and infection.On completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills to perform hand and foot care. 

COURSE CONTENT

What will I learn?

1.Caring for the Hands. Covers  cleaning and caring for the skin of the hands and keeping the nails trimmed and smooth. 
2. Caring for the Feet. Covers changes that could be a sign of a medical problem; identify conditions such as diabetes that affect circulation and sensation in the feet ;Foot care routine covering washing, drying, cutting/trimming and cuticle care
3. Hand and foot massage

18 hours including 3 hours elearning 

Full time: 2 days  Part time: 5 days
